Truck sim players complain that they can't use authentic CB radio mics with their game. This is very true and I had a similar problem when I was looking into Zello , I wanted an old school evil huge Motorola mic to use with my PC. 

Well the adapters were anywhere from $180 ~ $300 ( TBH tho the $300 was an adapter AND a button box )  so my geek on the cheap gene kicked in and I started a new project to make a budget one. 

I started by looking for used adapters, ran into all kinds of fun, then came upon some hacks that worked well but were ... hacky. Then I came across a DIY solution which is the latest thing I'm working on.

 For some reason there is a shroud of mystery / gatekeeping and other BS surrounding using the Flipper Zero with Touchtunes.  - Holes drilled ( I NEED A LASER )  - Mic interfaces mounted & tested ( I CAN'T SOLDER FOR SHIT )  - USB cables installed & tested - Tested as a system ... IT WORKS All that's left is to mount the microphone clips.  NOTE : Powered mics are LOUDER than non powered ones, adjust mic gain accordingly.

  So after a lot of soldering ( not easy for me ) and some help with converting python to circuitpython we have a working prototype! Grab that rap-rod , push that button and jabber-jaw with your on -line truckers looking out for smokeys on I 40 westbound mile marker 25! CB Microphone : $30 Adafruit QT Py RP2040 : $10 USB cable : $3 4 pin mic connector ( 4 pack ) : $8 USB sound card : $7 USB Hub : $4 ----------------------------------------- Total $ 62 Best price pre made : $180 Extreme price pre made : $300 ( with button box and other controllers to be fair ) Now can it be improved? Yes. Project box, better wiring / clean up , some shrink tubing and all that ... but that comes next! For now it works!
