Flipper Zero and TouchTunes ... the great mystery
For some reason there is a shroud of mystery / gatekeeping and other BS surrounding using the Flipper Zero with Touchtunes. I went banging on doors to find out what the deal is , but had not much luck.
So after some good 'ol fashioned OSINT and knocking things around here's the deal :
1. First thing you need is to know what you are emulating - the famous Touchtunes remote. Your first stop is here : https://cdn.touchtunes.com/marketing/pdfs/Remote_Control_Users_Guide_1.pdf
All you really need to know is here :
- Not all of the buttons do much , here are the key ones you need to know
- The game changer is that each jukebox has a preset PIN code ranging from 000-255 which must be set on the remote in order for it to work. In many cases no one changes it from the default 000.
- Get the UNLEASHED firmware, install it as per their instructions. https://github.com/DarkFlippers/unleashed-firmware
- Get this USB file pack from DamnedModders : https://www.damnedmodders.com/group/flipper-zero/discussion
- At the very least copy over the touchtunes files. My suggestion is to use the flipper lab : https://lab.flipper.net/
When all is said and done you should have a directory that looks like this :
/ext
/subghz
/TouchTunes
/brute - Files for brute forcing to determine what the PIN is
/pin - A complete set of all possible signal codes using all possible pins
/raw - Raw captures to tinker with
readme.md - Read it
touchtunes_map - A map file for the remote
Now you have all the signals to transmit, but you have no way to transmit them.
From the main menu of the Flipper navigate :
APPS -> Sub-Ghz -> Sub-Ghz Remote -> run
Select New Map File
Name your new map file
Select UP , select Edit File , navigate to -> TouchTunes -> PIN -> 0
Select P3_Skip
Select Edit Label
Enter the new label name ( Skip )
Press the back button.
Select SAVE
Observe the preview, select SAVE
Repeat as needed for other buttons you want.
When done, go back to the main menu for the SubGHz remote, and select "Open Map File"
and open your map file.
Note the orientation of the buttons changes as you are holding the Flipper vertically and not horizontally.
Now perform your civic duty to keep Nickelback out of our bars. Humanity is depending on you.
